Talk Talk book review

Talk TalkTalk Talk by T.C. Boyle

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Dana Halter’s life is thrown out of control after her identity is stolen. Her ability to sort things out is challenged by the fact she is deaf but she and her partner, Bridger Martin set out to find the identity thief.

Author T.C. Boyle switches perspectives from Bridger to Dana and to Peck (the criminal) and at times it can be a challenge for the reader to determine whose voice is being used.

In the end, I enjoyed the book which I’d classify as a DIY detective story but not quite enough to recommend it widely. Identity theft is a tough subject to cover and Boyle does manage to leave the reader with one burning question, “What would I do in Dana’s situation?”
