Two months after switching platforms, I can now definitely say that WordPress is better than Blogger at almost everything, including attracting spammers.
While there are anti-spam plugins for WordPress blogs, the one that is most recommended is fee-based and while the fee is small, I just don’t wanna pay it on principal. Instead, I just look at the spam as entertainment. Most of them look like regular comments but read enough and you can start to see patterns.
Here’s some of my faves — if you can call them that — all spelling and grammar has been left “as is”:
Properly, that is my 1st go to to your webpage! We’re a group of volunteers and beginning a brand new initiative in the community in a similar niche. Your webpage provided us beneficial info to work on. You could have performed a marvellous work!
I dont know what to say. This really is certainly one of several far better blogs Ive read. Youre so insightful, have a lot true stuff to bring for the table. I wish that much more persons understand this and get what I got from it: chills. Fantastic occupation and excellent blog. I cant wait to understand much more, continue to keep them comin!
Numerous of my buddies mentioned to me that numerous content articles about the weblog could be of misleading towards the readers as numerous from the composing are as well subjective. I just agreed with them but I do believe that you will find nevertheless some blogs which can bring up great worth towards the reader. One of the most essential point is we as reader require to study after which reflecting ourselve without having accept every thing that the writer composing about. Therefore, I usually maintain this principle for all of the weblog post and I believe you might believe the exact same way as I believe.
You certainly have some agreeable opinions and views. Your blog provides a fresh look at the subject.
Wonderful information, many thanks for the author. It really is incomprehensible to me now, but in general, the usefulness and significance is overwhelming. Thanks yet again and fine luck!
As you can see, the style is generally one of ego-massage though another tactic is to “alert” the blogger that the blog isn’t displaying properly on some little-known browser and/or hardware combo. All of the above also link to spam-friendly products like smokeless cigarettes and colon-cleanse products.
What gets me is that these tactics must be working or companies wouldn’t bother — even if they only work for a short time it’s enough to make money and move on to the next annoyance. So annoying.
Oh dear…
I had a spammy comment the other day, that said something about music (on a music related post, no less!), and then listed a bunch of links to things.
What the heck is the point of spam? After all these years, are there really people that fall for it?
If so, it’s just another nail in the coffin of mankind… idiocy reigns stronger day after day…
Spam still works, at least in some limited way. As long as it does, people will do it. Some people will do anything for money. It’s the point of our society, after all.
