Here’s a little ditty to describe our week, with apologies to Clement C. Moore (regular readers will recall another version of The Night Before Christmas that I posted in 2008) and to you for the blatant product placement, for which I’ve received not a penny….
The Week Before Christmas — Product Placement Edition
In the week before Christmas we have lots to do,
Some crafting, some baking, and shopping left, too
And then there’s the cleaning and stowing of stuff
Just finding the space is surprisingly tough
But we are determined to have family here
To celebrate Christmas with requisite cheer
So clutter be damned, we’ll attack with great vigor
In hopes that when finished the room will seem bigger.
Our house is a regular Swiffer commercial
but I find the Sweeper Vac most beneficial
along with the WetJet, the Duster and more
we’re doing our best to get through all the chores
In spite of our lists we’ve forgotten some stuff
so it’s back to the mall we head off in a huff
The parking’s a nightmare but Mike has no fear
he uses The Force to make spaces appear
I’ve left all the baking down to the last minute
I hope I’ve got everything that should go in it
I’ve got all the basics for cookies for sure
I’ll steer clear of sweets I’d consider obscure
Our stockings are bursting so they’ll be replaced
With bags that are personalized in good taste.
The gifts will be wrapped and tucked under the tree
(Hey, look! There’s a box over there that’s for me!)
As much as we’re busy, we’re thankful at least
for our home, and our health and the food for the feast
I’m sure that we’ll manage to get it all done
and on Christmas day we’ll relax and have fun.
Merry Christmas All! Thanks for reading.

Happy Holidays to all the DeWolfes.
Thanks, Star. All the best to the Sarcasfamily, too.
