I’ll bet most of you are familiar with the all-time creepiest of rabbits from Donnie Darko (“Why are you wearing that stupid bunny suit?” [two beat pause] “Why are you wearing that stupid human suit?”) but Easter seems to bring out its own range of creepy rabbits. Right now 103.1 Jack FM is running a Sketchy-Bunny per day (like the Sketchy Santa photos) and a quick Flickr search turns up a whole lot more:

And don’t even get me started on the art dolls…
(I’m not dismissing the skill involved in these… but they just don’t say “Happy Easter” to me…)

Creepy, indeed!! Although…I kind of like the old, orange bunny. We just don’t have enough respect and reverence for our elders. That bunny’s been through a life of many Easters. Probably raised a few of our modern Easter Bunnies. And she’s still quite the fashionable Bunny. We should all hope to hold up as well, as the years go by.
Day of Dead Easter Bunny? Seriously? My first thought was, “Kids, this is exactly why you shouldn’t get tattoos. Imagine how they’ll look in 50 years or so.” Not sure what to say about the Zombie Pippi Longstocking Evil Svengali Bunny over there, though… Or that last one, looking like Hick-bunny tries for Michael Jackson impression and just looks like Perv-Bunny.

Holly,I had exactly the same thought about that last rabbit — definitely evokes MJ — could have been helped with a different pose but then, there is still the issue of those giant feet and the fringed shorts.
