I don’t think it’s an accident that Canada Day and Independence Day are close together at the start of July, kicking off summer for most North Americans. It’s been strange having our dollar worth the same as or more than the American dollar – it has meant our trips south have been less of a hardship and it means an endless stream of news stories about how the high dollar is hurting our exports. I have no idea where I was going with this…. so I am going to suggest a couple of images to ponder while celebrating:
