Festive Sprinkle Candies

Need something super-simple for the last minute? Get thee to Michaels (or check your cupboards if you’re like me) and pick up the following:

  1. Jar of sprinkles (a.k.a. jimmies; I used a mix of Christmas colours: red, white & green) — $2 or $3
  2. Bag of white (vanilla) Wilton Candy Melts (or other light colour) — about $4
  3. plastic candy mold (shape of your choosing) — $2

You can have these done in no time at all, especially if you have multiple molds!

STEP 1: Place Candy Melts in a microwaveable container. Melt according to instructions on package.

STEP 2: Prepare the candy molds by placing a small number of sprinkles in each indentation.

STEP 3: Spoon melted Candy Melts into each indentation. Take care not to overfill — however, if you do, use a metal spatula to smooth off the excess.

STEP 4: Tap the mold carefully against the counter (i.e. lift it a half inch off the counter and bring it down; do this repeatedly). This step is very important as it will help to settle the candy around the sprinkles and bring any air pockets to the top as bubbles.

STEP 5: Let the candy set. Quickest way to do this is to pop the full mold into the fridge for a few minutes.

STEP 6: Remove candies from molds, place in gift bags or boxes or set out on dishes for guests!

**If you still have Candy Melts left, re-melt it (even if it seems soft, it will have partially set — trust me, re-melt it!) and repeat as needed!
