I am “on vacation” from the University for three weeks which means my days are packed pretty full of other stuff, which is OK.
This morning, I finally got our passport renewals into Services Canada. They expired in August and we got new photos taken in September then I stalled on the rest of the task. It took about an hour (could have been worse) and we should get our new documents in the new year. We asked for the old ones back and I expected the fancy punch that went through my first passport (in dotted letters it says VOID) but they’ve gone low-tech now so the clerk stamped it CANCELLED in several places then cut the corners off. Still… kinda nifty to have.
After that, more errands, then dropped Mike at a meeting while I sat at Starbucks with my laptop and tucked into one of Those DeWolfes Creative‘s current projects — helping Mike with some content wrangling while I get used to Drupal 7. I’m not a huge fan of the laptop hobo lifestyle but for 45 min so I didn’t have to make extra trips, it was fine. Plus we got to grab some Big Wheel Burgers for a late lunch.
Other tasks leading up to and following Christmas include some knitting and sewing (for gifts, shhh!); writing — my short fiction collection needs a lot more attention; more decorating, baking, and cleaning; some winter gardening; building a first draft of our WordCamp 2013 session; and, tinkering with our Zibbet and CafePress stores. PHEW!
How much I get done will depend on my ability to prioritize, juggle and focus… I’ll try and remember to check in on the other side of my 3 weeks off 🙂
When do you have time to sleep? Seriously, your energy, motivation, and creativity never ceases to impress the heck out of me.
Thanks, Renee.
