Why bother?

XKCD home organization

There are a lot of times when this seems to be the most reasonable possible solution.

On the other hand, there is a lot to be said for tidying up and clearing out crap. Before we headed over to Vancouver for a quick day-trip on Sunday, we tackled the van on Saturday. Kiddo and I pulled everything out of there, vacuumed the mats and seats, then re-organized and put back only what needed to be there.

We amalgamated 3 first aid kits plus some loose supplies into one easy to grab red kit; swapped out most of the current round of CDs for other CDs (yay, variety!); threw away a large bag of garbage and a large bag of paper recycling and brought in three bins full of stuff-that-didn’t-need-to-be-in-the-van. Phew!

My week of staycation also included some other cleaning/sorting/purging/filing and each of them felt just as rewarding.

But still… sometimes…. that MISC box is really appealing.
