The people who put on NaNoWriMo every November have started running “camps” for the summer months — one in June and one in August — basically the same thing; write your novel in a month. So… I decided to pack my virtual sleeping bag and head to camp for August with the goal of knocking the wind out of my “Better than Fifty” … erm … adult themed novel.*
The link in my sidebar goes to my camper page where you can read the teaser for the novel and follow my progress over the month. To be fair, I already have a head start — the bulk of the first chapter is written and I have a page full of plot notes. The goal is 50K words inside the month but I’ll be happy to get past 30K
I’ve also got a fundraising page. If you feel like supporting the NaNoWriMo people who coordinate these sprints, throw some cash that way. I will also presume that by doing so, you are supporting my efforts as an author without ever having to read a word of the *ahem* smut I may or may not write. I don’t get any of the cash — it goes to Camp NaNoWriMo.
