- Finish and have my short fiction collection edited then publish it.
- Finish and publish one or more other side projects that have been sitting in the wings.
- Spend at least 30 minutes every day being active (walking, yoga, Wii Fit, gardening, or whatever)
- Spend time promoting and marketing the things Mike and I have created (books, crafts, websites, etc.)
- Continue to meal plan through the whole year.
- Read at least 24 books.
- Be more aware of how I spend my time and strive for balance between chronocide and productivity.
Now… where am I on these? Basically same place I was on January first. Sigh.
I went way off track with the short fiction collection. Haven’t been able to find my place in the story I was working on and instead picked up “Undead” the young adult novel I’ve been working on for ages. I’ve written a couple of chapters on that… but not very happy with what I’ve written. I really need to get back to the short fiction.
Side projects? Nah. Not even thinking about them.
Being active… I think I made it five days in… then… fell off the wagon. As Mike said, I cut half an hour out of my 30 minute workout. Sigh. I have been taking the stairs at work more frequently and walking somewhat… but not nearly the amount I should be. Oh well still lots of time to get back on the wagon….
Promoting and marketing time? Zero.
Meal plan? Well, we are still largely following the plan in place til Spring Break… we’ll see how the rest goes.
Reading… had a great start then …. forgot.
And then there’s the balance issue. TOTAL fail so far. Coming home from work exhausted and I just ….. kill time.
Not the most positive of updates, but honest.

Cheryl – don’t be too hard on yourself. Have you considered Bregman’s 18-minute approach. Maybe try that for some time (isn’t there a long weekend coming up that you could use to get things planned out) and see how it goes. Perhaps you need to have a more formalized but higher level system to keep you on track.
